Living Covenant Fellowship - Christian Church Phoenix

Statement of Faith

"Since the harbor was unsuitable to winter in, the majority decided that we should sail on, hoping to reach Phoenix and winter there." Acts 27:12.

There is one God, who is infinite, eternal (past, present, and future), almighty, and eternally existent in three persons: Father, son, Holy Spirit (Trinity) (John 1:1-3, 2 Corinthians 13:14).

The Bible, including the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, is the written word of God. The Bible is essential, infalible, and authoritative. The Scriptures are given and verbally inspired by God. The Bible is free of error in all it teaches. (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The diety of our Lord Jesus Christ, is proclaimed in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in is ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory (Colossians 1:15-20).

Salvation is free gift of God, provided by God's grace alone. Lost and sinful man must be saved. Anyone turning from sin in repentance and looking to Christ and his sacrificial death receives the gift of eternal life and is declared righteous by God as a free gift. He, is fully justified and accepted by God (Romans 3:22-27).

The Church is not a religious institution or denomination. Rather, the universal Church is made up of all those who have become followers of Jesus Christ and have personally received salvation and the gospel. The Church exists for the purpose of worshiping nd glorifying God. The Church exists to serve Him and faithfully acting as His agent, doing His will on earth. The mission of the Church is to make disciples through preaching the gospel and living a life worthy of the calling of Christ. Upon conversion, newly redeeemed men and women are added to a local church. Water baptism is intended for the individual who has received Christ. In obedience to Christ's command, therefore, water baptism is a visual affirmation of a person's union with Christ in the likeness of His death, burial and resurrection (Romans 6:4).

The baptism of the Holy Spirit endows each believer with power to carry out the will of the Father and unites believers to Jesus Christ in faith, leads and guides the Church into all truth and a rich understanding of God's word. The Holy Spirit is to be respected, honored, obeyed, and worshiped as God, the third person of the trinity in all we do (Acts 1:5).
